Overview
Mission Statement
The Planning Board is responsible for guiding the development of land and growth within the Town of Riverhead. In accordance with the Riverhead Town Zoning Ordinance, state statute, and subdivision regulations, the Planning Board reviews and approves commercial and residential development. The Planning Board also reviews and recommends revisions to land use ordinances to the Town Board.
Terms of Office
The Town Board appoints all Planning Board members for a period of five (5) year terms. The Town Board appoints the Chairman and Vice-Chairman on an annual basis.
