The Islandia Groundbreaking Ceremony will be held on Thursday, May 23rd at 11am. The LIHBCDC will continue to accept applications beyond this date

Riverhead, NY – Just in time for the start of the summer season, Supervisor Sean Walter announced that the Riverhead free boat pumpout service is once again being offered. In addition, the Town of Riverhead offers two public stationary, no fee, pumpout facilities located at East Creek and downtown Riverhead that are available 24 hours a day. These facilities are self-service.

Riverhead, NY – Riverhead Town Supervisor, Sean M. Walter, has announced that residents can safely dispose of their household hazardous waste on “S.T.O.P (Stop Throwing Our Pollutants) Day” this Saturday, May 11 from 8:00am to 3:00pm at the Town’s Highway yard. The facility is located at 1177 Osborn Avenue (just north of the Riverhead Ambulance garage).

Riverhead, NY - The Riverhead Police Department, in conjunction with the United States Department of Justice / Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and numerous law enforcement agencies nationwide, has scheduled another National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day that will take place on Saturday, April 27, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Riverhead Police Department, located at 210 Howell Avenue in Riverhead.

Riverhead, NY – The New York State Office of Community Renewal awarded the Town of Riverhead a $250,000 New York Main Street grant to continue the town’s downtown revitalization efforts. The grant will focus on provided housing above existing retail, as well as other commercial building improvements within the downtown Business Improvement District (BID).

MEDIA ADVISORY Riverhead, NY – Riverhead Town Supervisor, Sean M. Walter, announced today that as follow-up on the gift of trees donated this past summer by Riverhead Raceway through NASCAR’s Green Clean Program, the first planting of the trees will be at the Town's Animal Shelter on Friday, September 28, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. The trees will provide much needed shade for the dogs and they will also help beautify the shelter facility.

Riverhead, NY - Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores made a generous contribution towards the beautification of Grangebel Park in downtown Riverhead this week. Lowe’s assisted in the renovation of Grangebel Park through their Lowe’s Heroes program, a volunteer program in which employees adopt a project with a local nonprofit organization to help improve the communities where they work and live. Lowe's Heroes has been in place since the late 1990s.

Riverhead, NY - Supervisor Sean Walter will celebrate the completion of the joint county-town-school sidewalk project on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., at the Pulaski Street School located at 300 Pulaski Street, Riverhead, NY 11901.
